Google Adsense and LinkShare Affiliate Ads Review
I recently tried affiliates ads and Google Adsense on http://www.noviceadvice.com; each for two days. The affiliate ads through LinkShare surprising had more clicks than I expected; however yielded zero return. I was a little impatient, so I switched immediately to Google Adsense. Much to my delight, I made a little money both days. It wasn't exactly a scientific study, but I'm sticking with Google Adsense for now.
LinkShare affiliate ads consists of dozens of big name stores, which drew me to them in the first place. I figured if people recognize the store in the ad, they will be more likely to click on it. That part was true.
While Google Adsense hasn't yielded as many click throughs as LinkShare, I believe the potential revenue will be significanly more, based on the average revenue per click. Relevant ads display on the page based on the content of that particular page. So if someone is viewing the Travel section of my site, they will see travel related ads.
